Monetary Donations

Every donation helps.  Your gifts provide funding for valuable programs such as the Adult Winter Reading program, Mountain of Authors, and more. Best of all, your donation is tax-deductible.

 

There are two easy ways to send your charitable donation:

  1. Online via credit or debit card; click here.

  2. By check; Payable to Friends of the PPLD and mail to:

Material Donations

​

Every donation makes a difference! Help us ensure that PPLD has funding for various programs geared to all ages. Below are detailed guidelines on the types of materials Friends can accept.

​

NOTE: To help the flow of materials, we ask that you please follow these guidelines according to the size of your donation.

​

First, limited donations may be given to a bookstore attendant during the following times:

  • East Library: Mon. - Sat., 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (3 box limit)

  • Library 21c:  Mon., Wed. - Sat., 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (2 box limit)

  • Penrose Library: Tues., Thurs., Sat., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (1 box limit)


Other Library branches have different arrangements; please call the location for further information.

Second, donations of up to 5 boxes per vehicle may be brought to East Library during our Curbside Service hours of 10 a.m. to Noon every Saturday. 

​

And finally, larger donations can be accommodated with an appointment.  Please contact the office at (719) 531-6333 X1461. 


Material Donation Guidelines
 

YES PLEASE!

We appreciate receiving items in gently used condition in the following categories:

​

  • Fiction and nonfiction, both hardcover and paperback

  • Cookbooks

  • History

  • Math and Science

  • Literature and Classics

  • Crafts and Hobbies

  • Children and Young Adult

  • Computer books and textbooks, newer than 5 years old

  • Magazines, one year old or newer

  • DVDs and BluRays

  • Music CDs

  • Audio Books on CD

  • Console games (Xbox, Nintendo, Playstation, etc.)

THANK YOU, BUT NO THANK YOU

These items CANNOT be accepted:

  • Cassettes

  • National Geographic magazines

  • Readers Digest magazines or condensed books

  • Encyclopedia sets

  • Mildewed, soiled, water or smoke damaged items

  • VHS Tapes

LARGE DONATIONS

As a kindness to our volunteers, please ensure that larger donations are packed in boxes weighing 25 pounds or less. For storage purposes, we prefer boxes similar in size and volume to a standard "bankers box."

 

Appointments are available for large donations over 5 boxes per visit.
